Am Freitag 18.September 2026 findet AT:NOG 2026/2 im Lakeside Spitz in Klagenfurt statt (genaue Adresse und Anreise-Information s.u.). Die Veranstaltungssprache ist bei Bedarf auf Englisch, sonst Deutsch (englische Unterlagen). Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Wir freuen uns diesmal über das Sponsoring von ALPSiX powered DE-CIX, die am Vormittag für den ALPSiX Launch schon beim Lakeside Spitz zu Gast sind. Die Draft-Agenda für ist wie folgt geplant (Änderungen, auch in der Reihenfolge vorbehalten, Themen werden noch ergänzt).

Themenvorschläge und weitere Vorträge (auch für zukünftige AT:NOG Treffen nehmen wir gerne unter <pc> AT <atnog.at> entgegen.

Vorsicht: Wir wollen den einzelnen Programmpunkten so viel Zeit einräumen wie notwendig. Deswegen sind alle unten angegebenen Zeiten nur eine sehr grobe Schätzung. Unser Tipp: Rechtzeitig kommen, damit du nichts versäumst!

• Kurzvorträge à 15–20 Minuten, Themenauswahl nach Einreichungen im Call for Presentations.

Socializing mit Plunder, Obst, kalten Getränken und Kaffee

16:00 Uhr (Vortragsblock 2) ca 2h:

Themenblöcke, jeweils mit Impulsvortrag, fixem Panel und offener Diskussion. Kärnten dient als durchgängiges Fallbeispiel in dem sich auch andere Bundesländer einordnen können.

• Infrastruktur — Fiber, Repeater und POPs
  Wie ist ein Bundesland tatsächlich erschlossen? Impuls am Beispiel Kärnten: Trassen, Verteilung der POPs, Standorte der Repeater und wie sich daraus die Topologie ergibt. Anschließend der Quervergleich — wie sieht das in den übrigen Bundesländern aus, und wo liegen die strukturellen Unterschiede?
• Latenz, Interconnection & Autarkie
  Wohin geht der Traffic, und wie unabhängig ist ein Bundesland im Störungsfall? Impuls am Beispiel Kärnten: Interconnection, Abhängigkeiten von Wien, gemessene RTT zu den Nachbarländern. Danach die Diskussion: Wie autark sind die anderen Bundesländer, und was wäre nötig, um regionalen Traffic auch regional zu halten?
• Content, Applikation und Cache Systeme
  Wo liegt der Content, der in den Regionen konsumiert wird? Welche CDN- und Cache Systeme sind regional präsent, welche nicht — und was bedeutet das für Kapazität, Latenz und Kosten der lokalen Netzbetreiber?

Event Information in English

On Friday, 18 September 2026, AT:NOG 2026/2 will take place at the Lakeside Spitz in Klagenfurt (exact address and travel information below). The event language will be English if required, otherwise German (with English slides). Participation is free of charge. This time we are pleased to have sponsorship from DE-CIX, who will already be guests at the Lakeside Spitz that morning for the ALPSiX launch. Please note that the ALPSiX event requires separate registration here.

Agenda

The draft agenda is planned as follows (subject to change, including the order; further topics will be added). Slides released by the speakers will be linked here after the event.

We are always glad to receive topic proposals and further talks — including for future AT:NOG meetings — at <pc> AT <atnog.at>.

Please note: we want to give each agenda item as much time as it needs. All times below are therefore only a very rough estimate. Our tip: arrive early so you don’t miss anything!

Topic blocks, each with a kickoff talk, a standing panel and open discussion. Carinthia serves as the running case study, against which the other federal states can position themselves.

• Infrastructure — Fiber, Repeater and POPs
  How is a federal state actually connected? Kickoff talk using Carinthia as an example: cable routes, distribution of POPs, Repeater locations, and the topology that results from them. Followed by the cross-comparison — what does this look like in the other federal states, and where are the structural differences?
• Latency, Interconnection & Self-sufficiency
  Where does the traffic go, and how independent is a federal state in the event of an outage? Kickoff talk using Carinthia as an example: interconnection, dependencies on Vienna, measured RTT to neighbouring countries. Then the discussion: how self-sufficient are the other federal states, and what would it take to keep regional traffic regional?
• Content, Applications and Cache Systems
  Where does the content consumed in the regions actually sit? Which CDN and cache systems have a regional presence and which do not — and what does that mean for capacity, latency and costs for local network operators?
